Dental technicians, also called dental laboratory technicians, manufacture dental prosthetics including bridges, crowns, and dentures according to specifications dentists send to them. They work in specialties that include orthodontic appliances, crowns and bridges, complete dentures, partial dentures, or ceramics. Dental technicians are also called dental laboratory technicians.
In addition to fabricating dental restorations, Dental Technology and Hygiene Technicians play an important role in maintaining patients’ oral health and hygiene. They assist dentists in preparing materials, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. They educate patients on proper oral care, preventive practices, and post-treatment maintenance. In the laboratory, they handle precision tools and advanced equipment to design and adjust dental prostheses, ensuring a perfect fit and natural appearance.
